Tips For An Awesome Koh Samui Experience

I am very lucky to have been to Koh Samui more times than I can count. I live in Bangkok, so when ever I get free time I head out of the bustling city to enjoy island life on Samui. Getting from Bangkok to Koh Samui is super easy, in just a few hours I can go from my condo to the beach – it doesn’t get much better than that!

For several years now I have always been giving tips to my friends about what to do in koh Samui when they’re there. The last group of friends had such a good time I thought it was about time I shared my top tips with all of you guys.

If you’re heading to Koh Samui – here are some great tips that will make sure you have an awesome time.

Head To The Beaches

The busiest beaches are Lamai and Chaweng, the reason being is that they are the easiest to get to. There are loads of other smaller beaches for you to try out and I think they are more beautiful too. Don’t miss out on Coral Cove or Silavadee Beach – well worth the trip and ideal fro beach lovers.

Hire A Moto

To really explore this island you need to be able to get round it with ease, the best way to do this is to hire a moto. You can head off when you want, stop where you like and go at your own pace – having to rely on other ways to get round is too stressful in my opinion. It’s not expensive at all, on average you’ll end up paying aroun 250 THB, that’s roughly $8 USD. There’s no testing terrain you’ll have to conquer, it is really easy to trafel around because the island has a ring road, from this ring you head off to othere areas inland for waterfalls and viepoints.

Find The Best View

There are places on Koh Samui where you will get some of the most stunning views you have ever seen. If you’re inland then you will have plenty of options because the island is pretty hilly – there are a lot of great little restaurants with beautiful views of the jungle. I being closer to the ocean when finding the best view point because you are on an island afterall! Lat Ko is great and so is Grandma and Granpa Rock – I guarantee spectacular views and sunsets from these two.
