48 Hours In New York – Attractions You Cannot Miss

So, you’ve got only 48 hours in the Big Apple and you need to see some of the New York attractions – no problem at all! We’ve put together the top attractions for you to visit. Of course you’ll be feasting on some pizza slices, strolling through bustling streets looking up at the enormous sky scrapers, taking in the breath taking views from the top of the Empire State building and checking out the vibrant nightlife. Even with all of that going on, here are some absolute must-see attractions that will fit into your busy schedule.

9/11 Memorial

I feel that this should be top of the list on any visit to NYC, heading down to the lower Manhattan area you’ll find the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, it is exactly where the World Trade Centre used to stand. It is a tribute to remember the nearly 3,000 people that died. There are two things to do here. Firstly, there is the memorial, there are two huge reflecting pools here that have stunning waterfalls which flow down filling two footprints which mark where the Twin Towers once stood. Once finished at the memorial you can head to the museum which has several interesting exhibitions. You’ll need about two hours to see everything.

Times Square

This is the busiest intersection in the world, I am sure we’ve all seen it in the movies because it has been featured countless times. There’s good reason why over 39 million tourists come here each year – it is right in the middle of Manhattan and houses Broadway, the Good Morning America Studios, MTV’s studio, world famous restaurants, luxurious hotels, Madame Tussaud’s Museum, the NYE ball drop and (my favourite) M&M’s World. Whatever time of year you visit you will always find something happening here, bustling with outlandish street acts and tourists, Times Square never fails to deliver.

A Broadway Show

It doesn’t really matter how many hours you have in the Big Apple, catching a Broadway show is an absolute must. With over 40 theaters located in Manhattan, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding a show to your liking and one that can fit your group no matter how big it is. If you are traveling in a big group then hop online and try to find some bargains for group bookings, you’ll also be able to see what’s going to be showing when you visit. It’s a great way to spend a few hours in the evening before hitting the town for your last night in NYC.
